Greetings from Woodland Manor Assisted Living!
We are busy trying to help spring arrive to campus. The residents recently made fun Easter snacks to serve as table decorations for Easter.
Glenda Clifford, the Housing Director, has a Special Plate we like to use called “The Red Plate.”
Our clients can nominate someone that they feel should be recognized for doing something nice for another client, then each day we pick someone to have their noon meal on the red plate that says “You Are Special Today.” It can be simply getting someone’s mail, holding an apartment door open while a client wheels in in his or her wheel chair, and helping table mates or neighbors. I appreciate their kindness to one another and the red plate is one small way to say “Thanks!”
We will have special music April 9th in the chapel at 2:30 with coffee following
Andrew Thelan from Estherville Iowa will play piano for us. We have frequent visits from musicians, artists and others in the community willing to share their talents with us.
We also have purchased new items to use during exercise class such as a large kick ball and a bean bag game also. We are going to start bowling too! Offering activities to keep the residents mobile and healthy is one of the most rewarding things we can give our residents!
We are looking forward to planting in our outside flower pots with flowers and getting our patio furniture out to enjoy the sun! Lakeview has many gardens and flower boxes that residents from all facilities enjoy.
I would like to invite everyone from the community to stop by Woodland Manor Assisted Living every afternoon at 2 pm. The residents have social time in the community dining room. It is a wonderful opportunity to sit and meet your campus neighbors and spend time with some very interesting people.
The staffs at Woodland Manor strive to make every day count, promote independence and improve the quality of life in our seniors. We believe that this campus is serving our seniors living in and around the Fairmont community well and we are proud to be a part of Lakeview Methodist!
